Bequest

Among the Ashanti artifacts which I catalog, 19 were bequeathed to the museum in 1977. These 19 set of artifacts which includes masks, gold weights, and gold storage containers, were from the collection of Alice K. Bache, an American art dealer whose collections are all over the North American museums. Bequeathed artifacts are a common way museums had received artifacts for many years.
